The sensitive repair and refurbishment of a beautiful Victorian Villa, now a school, for the Department for Education.
BluePrint provides historic building consultancy services for this complex heritage project, addressing extensive repairs and detailed conservation works. The project has navigated significant contractor challenges, with two main contractors going into liquidation during the construction phase. We are now working with the third contractor to bring this important educational facility refurbishment project to a successful completion.
Our role encompasses comprehensive heritage oversight throughout the construction process, including rescoping the project, maintaining good relations with the local planning authority, conducting regular site visits to liaise with subcontractors, confirming repair methodologies and workmanship standards, and conducting quality inspections, as well as signing off on conservation work. This continuity of heritage expertise has been vital in maintaining project standards and compliance despite contractor changes.
The project showcases our dedication to completing challenging heritage projects through to completion, ensuring this Victorian educational building receives the careful conservation it warrants while serving the community for future generations.
