Paul is a chartered conservation architect with over twenty-five years of experience in the construction industry. Paul worked as a builder for five years and, since 2010, has worked full-time on historic buildings and conservation/regeneration projects.

Architects Accredited in Building Conservation

The AABC register was established in 2002 and is the most reputable accreditation for conservation architects. To be accepted, architects are rigorously assessed on their knowledge and experience in conservation work by a team of peers, including a knowledgeable non-architect. Paul holds the highest level of AABC accreditation, making him one of only 440 conservation-accredited architects in the UK (less than 1%).

Institute of Historic Building Conservation

'The mark of the conservation professional'.

IHBC is the main UK professional body for conservation practitioners and historic environment specialists. It was founded in 1997 and has a multidisciplinary membership. Members must demonstrate expertise beyond their profession. Paul achieved the highest level of accreditation in 2022, making him one of only 360 fully accredited architects in the UK (less than 1%).

Sustainable Traditional Buildings Alliance

A UK alliance focused on conserving and improving traditional buildings. Applying modern materials and solutions to these buildings can cause irreparable damage. We offer a holistic method to improve building performance, supported by Historic England and used by the National Trust. Paul is qualified with the STBA and uses this assessment method on most projects.
